Filter Information

This page is designed to give more of an overview of the Atrix International filters, and to detail the outstanding efficiency that the filters provide.

Fine particulate filters are tested for their efficiency of retaining tiny particles of matter (which are measured in microns). Different filters are designed to be more efficient at retaining these particles, and the cost to make the filters increases accordingly. For example, HEPA filters are designed to retain a higher percentage of particles than a standard filter, and ULPA filters are more efficient still.
The efficiency of a filter can be important depending on the application they are being used for. For example, in a cleanroom environment, it is important that as many dust particles are removed as possible to keep the atmosphere as sterile as possible. In this case, an ULPA filter would be advisable as the filter would hold more of the finer particles than a more standard filter.

Below is a chart to help understand the different sizes in microns of some common particles:

The Atrix International filters are tested for their efficiency over a range of particle sizes right down to 0.3 microns for the standard and HEPA filters, and 0.12 microns for the ULPA filter. The test results can be seen in the following pdf's for the most popular filters:
