The brand new, fully certified Atrix High Capacity Type H Asbestos Vacuum features a high performance motor and a large 5 US gallon (19L) ULPA filter as standard. It comes with a freewheeling canister base for ease of portability.

This version of the High Capacity Vacuum is the ideal choice for large volumes of hazardous particulate clean-up and perfect for dealing with asbestos removal, mold spores, lead dust, RRP (renovate, repair, paint) and abatement applications.
With all of the required safety features, it is great for shadow vacuuming under licensed or un-licensed conditions and fully compliant with both BS 8520-3:2009 and BS EN 60335-2-69. Furthermore it meets the HSG264 standards of surveying. It is important in all of these specialist applications that the machine operator also wears the appropriate clothing and protection for the task in hand.

As a further safety precaution the vacuum is fitted with an indicator light which is connected to a sensor and circuit board within the unit. These new additions monitor the suction of the vacuum and if the air speed drops below 20m/s which is the minimum level for a safety vacuum, the light will illuminate. This indicates to the end user that there is a problem with the suction level and to check all accessories for blockages. If no blockages are found then the filter is full and will need replacing (see further details below).

The ULPA filter which comes as standard in this vacuum has an efficiency rating of 99.999% at 0.12 microns and meets the 'H14' filtration standard as well as being fully compliant with BS EN 1822.

Each vacuum is fully tested and comes with 6 months DOP and electrical test certificates and comes complete with an EMI/RFI line noise filter and the following accessories:

  • 9' Clear Hose
  • Drilling Enclosure
  • Crevice Tool with Brush
  • 16" Rubber Flex Neck
  • Utilty Nozzle
  • 8' Power Cord
  • Freewheeling Canister Base
  • 1 Filter Air Intake Plug
  • 2 Hose Plugs
  • 1 Clear Asbestos Waste Bag
  • 1 Red Asbestos Waste Bag
  • Sealing Filter Lid
  • 12 Months Parts Warranty

The 110v version of this vac is supplied with a 110v yellow plug.

Included among the accessories with this vac is our Drilling Enclosure which is ideal for any asbestos surveying work that needs to be done. The enclosure fits onto the end of the hose and ensures that any particles are kept within the vacuum when drilling. We also include the relevant Power Cord depending on whether it is a 230v or 110v vacuum, a 9ft Clear Hose which is essential for identifying any blockages within the system, 2 Hose Plugs for ensuring any contamination is kept within the hoses when not in use and a Filter Plug for the same reason. Also, we include the Utility Nozzle, Crevice Tool with Crevice Tool Brush and a 16" Rubber Flex Neck to aid in dislodging any stubborn particles, and 1 Clear and 1 Red Large Asbestos Waste Bag for use when you need to store or take the vacuum for re-testing.

DOP Test Registration

As an added benefit, your vacuum will also be registered on the system of our DOP testing partner company to keep a record of when your vacuum is due for an updated DOP test. This test is required by UK regulations in order for the vacuum to remain compliant. In addition to the DOP test, the vacuum will be PAT tested and a new filter will be fitted. If you require further information about this procedure, please get in touch with us.

Optional Extras

In addition to the accessories that come with the vacuum, we have a selection of extra items that you may find useful. These include our Vacuum Accessory Pack (these should be used as single-use disposable items as they will not get decontaminated), extra supplies of Asbestos Waste Bags, and our Deluxe Vacuum Backpack Harness to enable the user to wear the vacuum instead of carry it.
For more information on these products, please see the related products section or click through on the links provided here.

Replacing the ULPA Filter

Please note, the filter in this vacuum should only be replaced by a trained and accredited professional qualified to handle asbestos waste and in an appropriate environment.
This can be carried out for you when you require by our partner company (or an alternative).

Decontamination & Re-Testing Procedure

As part of the UK legislation for the use of vacuums being used to clean asbestos, this vacuum must be re-certified every six months or when the filter is replaced, depending on which comes first (and also if the vacuum has been dropped or damaged in any way). As mentioned previously, your vacuum serial number will be registered onto our DOP testing partner company's system who will keep a record of when the vacuum is ready for re-testing.
You can either submit your vacuum directly with our partner company or use a local supplier for this process. The process includes disposal of the used filter and asbestos waste, decontamination of the machine, a brand new ULPA Filter being installed, a full re-rest with certification and shipping the vac back to you.
As a general guide price, this is done for around £120 + vat including the filter.
